The truly Omnivoracious among you may want to check out the newest in our fleet of Amazon blogs (you can find them all linked at the top of any Omni page): Toy Whimsy, where our colleagues Laura McMullan and Eddie Moore will be cutting through the noise of toy merchandising to point you to the best things out there. And for those of you who only think about toys at this time of year when you have to think about what to give to the apprentice-people in your life, this might be the perfect time to stop by for some expert advice. --Tom
P.S. Can anyone identify what the photo is in the banner on top of their blog? I'm thinking triceratops...

I thought it might be a parrot.

Could you please clarify "Omni" as in "you may want to check out the newest in our fleet of Amazon blogs (you can find them all linked at the top of any Omni page." Where can I find other Amazon blogs?

Hi Linda--
Omni is shorthand for Omnivoracious, our books blog, which you can find at Omnivoracious.com. (Or as part of Amazon Daily on the Amazon site, which is where you might have found us the first time.)

I think it's a robotic dinosaur. I saw it at a special family event at the Exploratorium in San Francisco. If it's what I'm thinking about, this is one AMAZING toy. This dinosaur senses your actions and sees/hears you - then reacts to you. When you cuddle it, it snuggles into your chest. When you "feed" it, it bends down to eat. They gave several of these to a local children's hospital, where patients needed a pet, but couldn't have any germs in their area.
Truly amazing ... But I can't remember the name...
