Shelf Monkey's Corey Redekop Punches Out Star Wars...and Plays

As noted previously, Star Wars: Punch Out and Play! is becoming an international event here at Omnivoracious, with five bloggers around the world sent copies and asked to report back on their adventures. The book allows you to punch out (or, er, carefully separate out) 12 iconic Star Wars characters and, as the ad copy says, create a dozen free-standing paper dolls to "decorate your home, office, or any place in need of some intergalactic inspiration and transport yourself to a galaxy far, far away."

The first to do so for Omnivoracious is Canadian Corey Redekop, author of Shelf Monkey. Redekop's novel won a gold medal for best popular fiction novel from the Independent Book Publisher Awards and was one of those sleeper finds from the past few years that any booklover will enjoy.

A few excerpts of Corey's adventures with the Star Wars book below. Who knew cardboard cut-outs could be so versatile? Check out Corey's blog for more examples of how adults can have fun with, er, flat pop culture dolls...
