You Might Be a Genius If...: Twenty-four lucky creative artists, including writers Edwidge Danticat, Deborah Eisenberg, and Heather McHugh, woke up to some very good news this morning. They're among the recipients of this year's MacArthur Foundation "genius" grants, which provides a "no strings attached" award of $500,000 over the next five years.

Listen Up: James Ellroy pays a visit to NPR's Morning Edition to talk about his new book, Blood's a Rover.

In the Kitchen with Kate: Kate Gosselin's family cookbook, Love Is in the Mix, which was put on hold amidst a very public divorce with her husband, Jon Gosselin, is rumored to be back on.

Moving & Shaking: Laura Miller's review on Salon has A New Literary History of America onto our Movers & Shakers list, landing on the No. 3 spot (current rank: 118, up from 5,572)
