Get Out the Vote for Children's Books

Unlike the Caldecott, Newbery, and other national children's book awards, the Children's Choice Book Awards (CCBA) lets kids and teens choose the winning book of the year in four categories.  How cool is that? The Children's Book Council (who administers the CCBA) selects the Best Author of the Year and Best Illustrator of the Year, and the finalists are a veritable who's who of kids and teens authors and illustrators (and author/illustrators)! Over 300,000 votes have been submitted so far, and there is still time to check out the finalists and submit votes for your favorite (check out voting information here). Voting closes two weeks from today, on April 29th, and the winners will be announced at a gala event in New York City on May 2nd, the first day of Children's Book Week. Check back to find out which of these fabulous finalists takes home the title of Best Book/Author/Illustrator of the Year. Below is the list of finalists:
