It's Time to Announce Amazon's Best Books of the Year
After countless hours of reading, meeting, discussing, and voting, it's time for the Amazon editors to announce our 2011 Best Books of the Year. In many ways the most difficult part about compiling a list like this is not what you put in-- it's what you leave out. Here's the Top 10, because that's what traditionally gets the most attention. From The Art of Fielding to The Tiger's Wife, each book in the Top 10 has earned its place. But there are worthy books from talented authors all up and down the list of Top 100 Best Books of the Year. From award winners to great debuts to best sellers. From fiction to nonfiction and all genres in between. There really is something for everyone.
1. The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach
2. 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami
3. What It Is Like to Go to War by Karl Marlantes
4. In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larsen
5. The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenides
6. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
7. Before I Go to Sleep by S.J. Watson
8. Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson
9. Lost in Shangri-La by Michael Zuckoff
10. The Tiger’s Wife by Téa Obreht
