Summer Reading Author Exclusive: M.T. Anderson

If you've been following Omni lately, you'll have noticed that each week we feature a kids or teens author for summer reading.  I'm finding that besides great books, many of them also share a wonderful sense of humor, including this week's author, M.T. Anderson.  Anderson has written numerous books for kids and teens, including the Pals in Peril series and prize winners like The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, Traitor to the Nation, Volume I: The Pox Party, which won the National Book Award, and Feed, a National Book Award finalist and winner of the Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Young Adult Fiction.

In this exclusive--and very funny--summer reading video below, Anderson shows readers how he spent his summers as a young man; swimming, reading, and climbing the fence of the neighboring military installation.  He also talks about some of his favorite summer reads--maybe some of these were your favorites too?

It sounds like Anderson is a huge fan of sci-fi. Would you agree that Fritz Lang is one of the main inspirations behind the genre? I'm really excited for the revamp of Metropolis. It's a really rare edition that is supposed to release 23 July on this new platform called Yekra. If you're interested give it a look. Thanks for the great blog. http://www.metropolismovie.co.uk/
