Fiction - This was our #1 pick for the Best Books of the Year, so we were especially happy to see Colson Whitehead win the National Book Award. His novel--about two slaves trying to escape on an underground railroad that is not just metaphorical but real--has definitely been one of the highlights of the publishing year.
