Reading Is Fundamental

KidBalloon200Do you remember the first book you received as a child?  Or the joy of reading a story that gave you comfort or set your imagination free? I’m a true believer in the power of books and that every child deserves the chance to discover a love of reading.

RIF (Reading is Fundamental) has been carrying that message for many years (I remember it from when I was a kid) and they are still going strong, promoting children’s literacy far and wide. And right now we are trying to help them in that endeavor by sharing their wish list that readers can use to send books to RIF, making it possible for even more children to have access to stories that can touch their hearts and minds.  Below are a handful of my favorite RIF selections, and you’ll find the complete list here.
