It All Began With a Cat. And a Hat.

CatInHat200Every year we celebrate the legacy and birthday of Dr. Seuss with Read Across America Day. Seuss transformed the face of children's books with characters and wordplay that could elicit wild laughter and carry important messages of sharing, responsibility, and how we can make a difference in the world around us. 

Dick and Jane were long the standard in children's primers, but The Cat in the Hat changed all that...  Below, a handful of images of that debonair feline who, sixty years later, is still stealing children's hearts and inspiring them to read.
