Celebrity Picks: Michael Connelly Recommends LA Stories

So it's no surprise that Connelly recommends a story by Chandler in this edition of Celebrity Picks. But which story does he recommend and why? And who else does he love? Check out all of Michael Connelly's picks below. You couldn't find a better author to recommend great LA Stories.

The Late Show centers around a brand new character in Connelly's universe, a woman named Renée Ballard, a detective working the night shift in Hollywood.

This is the classic L.A. private eye story. But what I like about it is not its plotting or mystery, but its sardonic take on the City of Angels. Nobody captured it better than Chandler.
